  • How do I make a booking?

    There are several ways to make a reservation with Chartair.

    For Charter Flight Enquires, you can fill an online form, and our friendly Operations team will respond with a quote within 24 hours. 

    To make a booking you can call or send an email to confirm after you have received a quote.

  • How does the charter process work?

    After your initial enquiry, our team will send you a selection of quotes to choose from. Each quotation will have a clear breakdown of aircraft and airports. Our operations team will book the private plane and send you the flight details if you wish to go ahead. This includes check-in time and other important information related to your charter flight.

  • How much luggage can I take with me on charter flights

    We will let you know how much the hold (payload) can take on your chosen aircraft, and you will be able to upgrade if you feel more space is needed. Usually, you would be able to take more luggage with you on a charter flight than on a scheduled service flight.

  • When do I need to check in before my charter flight?

    Check-in time is strictly no later than 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.

  • Can I change my itinerary online?

    No, unfortunately, charter services cannot be changed online. Please contact the office to make any changes to your booking, preferably via email flightops@chartair.com.au. Changes to your Itinerary may incur a change fee.

  • Can I change the passenger’s name on the booking?

    Yes, you may change the passenger’s name. Please contact the office to make any changes to your booking, preferably via email flightops@chartair.com.au. Names of all passengers on a charter flight must be confirmed the day before departure.

  • Any important information before my charter flight?

  • Do I need permits to travel to certain communities in the NT?

    For Tiwi Islands, you will need to contact the Tiwi Land Council.

    For Arnhem Land, please get in touch with Northern Land Council

  • Can I have someone else book a charter flight for me?

    Yes, your travel agent may contact us to book on your behalf.

  • When and with which payment methods should I pay for my flights

    You are required to pay for your flight before departure. You will be requested to provide a credit card at the time of booking. A deposit can be paid to hold the booking if booked in advance. All charters for non-invoice customers must be paid in full 48 hours before departure.

    Chartair accepts major credit cards: Mastercard and Visa (1.5 % surcharge). We also accept cheques, cash, basic cards and EFT. However, we do not accept Diners or AMEX.

  • Cancellation

    If you wish to cancel your booking, please refer to our Terms & Conditions

  • What if I miss my flight?

    If you are travelling on a charter flight, the scheduled flight time is your departure time. If you need to change your departure time, please contact your travel organiser. 

  • Are meals provided?

    For your convenience, Chartair can arrange lunch packs for flights from Darwin with 48 hours’ notice.  The cost is $25 per lunch pack with options for gluten-free and vegetarian available. View all options here.
