There is no room for safety shortcuts in an air charter business, so we never take any. Right from our very first charter flight in the early 70’s, we have made safety and reliability our number one priorities at Chartair, with a huge and on-going investment in staff training, facilities and resources.
We maintain our fleet to the highest standards. Not only do we meet or exceed CASA standards, but we also meet the requirements of external oil and gas companies that may audit us at any time.
We employ more than 30 people all over the NT, including a full-time Safety Manager. Our maintenance workshops at Alice Springs include a fully-certified engine overhaul facility, wheels and brakes shop, together with a paint shop.
It’s a big commitment in terms of cost and supervision, but our customers always come first. Many of the major contracts that we undertake, such as Medivac and the Royal Flying Doctor Service, are absolutely time-critical, with no margin for delays due to mechanical problems or non-availability of aircraft.
