RASS - The Mail Plane
Chartair operates a number of scheduled passenger and freight services on behalf of the Federal Government Remote Air Services Subsidy (RASS) Scheme throughout the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
These services operate as an essential lifeline transporting passengers, Australia Post mails, freight and medical supplies to remote Indigenous communities and isolated outback stations and homesteads. The remote mail service became a vital part of the Australian postal system. And locals called us the Mail Plane since.
