Our scheduled services

Chartair is unique, among only a handful of General Aviation operators in Australia certified by CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) to operate Regular Passenger Transport (RPT) scheduled services. This means we operate to higher levels of safety and compliance compared to a standard air charter organisation; our pilots undergo more training and testing and our aircraft are maintained to more exacting standards.

  • How do I make a booking?

    For Scheduled Flight, you can book a flight online here

  • How much luggage can I take with me on scheduled flights

    On regular public transport flights, tickets include 10kg of checked baggage plus 2kg carry on. Carry on must fit in the seat pocket. No backpack or larger.

    General freight is $9.90 per kg plus an $11.00 handling fee.

    Excess baggage is $7.50 per kg. 

    Excess baggage is not guaranteed to travel & is subject to space availability on aircraft. 

  • When do I need to check in before my scheduled flight?

    Please arrive no later than 45 mins before the scheduled departure. Check-in for your flight will close 30 mins prior to departure. Passengers and bags will not be accepted after this time. If you miss a check-in, this may result in you forfeiting your ticket.

  • Can I change my itinerary online?

    No,  unfortunately, scheduled services cannot be changed online. Please contact the office to make any changes to your booking, preferably via email flightops@chartair.com.au. Changes to your Itinerary may incur a change fee.

  • Can I change the passenger’s name on the booking?

    Yes, you may change the passenger’s name. Please contact the office to make any changes to your booking, preferably via email flightops@chartair.com.au. Changes of passenger name may incur a change fee.

  • Any important information before my scheduled flight?

    Please refer to the page Before Your Flight.


  • Do I need permits to travel to certain communities in the NT?

    For Tiwi Islands, you will need to contact the Tiwi Land Council.

    For Arnhem Land, please get in touch with Northern Land Council

  • Can I have someone else book a scheduled flight for me?

    Yes, your travel agent may contact us to book on your behalf.

  • When and with which payment methods should I pay for my flights

    Passenger seats are instant purchase and you will need to provide a credit card at the time of booking.


    Chartair accepts major credit cards: Mastercard and Visa (1.5 % surcharge). We also accept cheques, cash, basic cards and EFT. However, we do not accept Diners or AMEX.

  • Cancellation

    If you wish to cancel your booking, please contact us before departure. Cancellation fees will apply. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions

  • What if I miss my flight?

    We understand the frustration when you miss your flight. Unfortunately, if you miss your flight, there will be no refund.

  • Are meals provided?

    For your convenience, Chartair can arrange lunch packs for flights from Darwin with 48 hours’ notice.  The cost is $25 per lunch pack with options for gluten-free and vegetarian available. View all options here
